Every ShimmerS piece passes through the hands of embroiderers, weavers and tailors who have spent decades perfecting a single craft. This is how we build a garment worth keeping.
ShimmerS began as a small tailoring atelier in Kolkata, built on a simple idea: that bridal and ethnic wear deserves the same care as couture, without losing what makes it feel like home.
What started with a handful of embroiderers and one tailoring table has grown into a full atelier — but we've kept the small-batch approach. Every order still passes through the same in-house fitting process that the first ShimmerS bride experienced.
We work directly with weaving clusters and embroidery artisans we've partnered with for years, which means every zari border and every zardozi motif can be traced back to the hands that made it.
To keep hand embroidery and handloom weaving alive and thriving by building pieces that are genuinely worn and loved — not just admired — while making sure every artisan behind that work is paid and credited fairly.
To become the atelier every family trusts with their most important occasions — known equally for the quality of the craft and the care of the experience, from first consultation to final fitting.
Every bridal order at ShimmerS includes dedicated fitting appointments in our Kolkata atelier. We don't believe a made-to-order piece is finished until it fits exactly the way it should — no alterations mailed back and forth, no guesswork.
Our stylists work alongside our tailors, so styling decisions — blouse design, drape style, jewellery pairing — happen in the same room as the fitting itself.
It's slower than off-the-rack. We think that's the point.
Every made-to-order piece follows the same five-step process, whether it's a full bridal lehenga or a single festive saree.
A styling appointment to understand the occasion, silhouette and colour palette you have in mind.
Fabric and embroidery materials are sourced from our long-term weaving and artisan partners.
Zardozi, zari, sequin or thread work is completed entirely by hand — often over several weeks.
In-atelier fitting appointments ensure the finished garment fits exactly, only, you.
A final quality check and press before your piece is ready for pickup or delivery.
Every zardozi, zari and thread motif is worked by hand across weeks, not machine-run overnight.
Pure silk, Banarasi zari and handloom cotton sourced directly from weaving clusters we've worked with for years.
Every bridal order includes in-house tailoring appointments so the fit is exactly, only, yours.
Small-batch production means real attention on each piece — never a rushed, assembly-line finish.
My lehenga fit like it was made for no one else — because it was. The embroidery alone took my breath away on the day.
The Kanjivaram saree I wore for my reception is now something I'll pass down. That's rare to find today.
From the first fitting to the final drape, the team treated my order like it was the only one they had.
